The Connects Program, supported by Alberta Innovates Health Solution, sponsors various networking events, such as workshops, panel discussions and their annual Making Connections Conference, in an effort to connect health researchers across Alberta. For example, Alberta Innovates is hosting a panel discussion with experts in science communication. The speakers are Hanneke Brooymans who is an environmental reporter for the Edmonton Journal, Shannon Jones who is a communications advisor for the National Institute for Nanotechnology and Torah Kachur who is the co-founder of Science in Seconds. This event will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at the Faculty Club (located on the University of Alberta campus). There is no fee to attend and lunch will be provided but please email email@example.com to register. There will be a second panel discussion with different speakers on Monday, October 25, 2010 at the University of Calgary (for more details, click here).
