The John Charles Polanyi Prizes

The John Charles Polanyi Prizes are named after and in honour of the 1986 recipient of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.  This award provides funding to exceptional researchers who are entering post-doctoral studies or faculty positions at an Ontario University. This award is intended to assist with research costs and professional development. Each year up to five prizes will be awarded to individuals studying in the areas of Literature, Economic Science, Physics, Chemistry, Physiology, Medicine and related fields.

Applications are to be submitted to the Dean of Graduate Studies at the Ontario university where the award is to be undertaken. Contact them to determine the deadline for submission. The Dean of Graduate Studies will review all applications, select the top three applicants and submit these three applications to the Selection Committee by January 30, 2011.  Applicants must have successfully completed their PhD program by April 30, 2011. For more details about eligibility and the application process, click here.
