Job fairs are excellent opportunities to meet a large number of employers in a short period of time. Unlike career fairs, employers at job fairs have positions available immediately or within a reasonable amount of time (such as six months). Even if you are not in need of employment, attending job fairs is a great way to network and practice interview skills. When participating in events such as this, always bring an ample supply of business cards and resumes, dress professionally and have a positive attitude. As well, research in advance employers you are most interested in meeting at the job fair. This is often your first opportunity to connect with employers face-to-face and impress them.
