Each year the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) hosts an outstanding student paper competition in the areas of applied mathematics and computing. Up to three winners are chosen based solely on the quality of the student’s contribution to the submitted paper. Students must not hold a PhD degree at the time of the competition deadline, co-authored papers are allowed and papers must already be submitted for publication. The winners of this award will receive a $1000 cash prize and an invitation and financial support to the 2012 SIAM Annual Meeting.
