The University of Waterloo is offering a two week summer math course (August 10 to 23, 2014) for female undergraduate students studying mathematics at a Canadian university. The aim of the program is for exceptional students to learn high-level math and current research interests. Thus, this program can be viewed as a gentle introduction to graduate studies. Candidates are selected based on academic excellence, and preference is given to students with at least one year remaining in their program. Canadians and permanent residents studying outside Canada are also eligible to apply. The deadline to apply is January 31, 2014. For more information, click here.
The Mackenzie King Scholarships offers financial support to graduates of Canadian universities who pursue graduate studies in Canada or aboard. All disciplines are eligible. The deadline is February 1, 2014. Further funding opportunties are listed below:
Action Canada is a leadership and public policy development program for early career Canadian professionals. This is an 11 month program where selected candidates work in groups on a public policy project. Throughout this time, groups meet at five scheduled conferences across Canada and are also expected to continue their work between conferences. The program brings together academia, government, industry and media.

The Sangster Award is supported by the Canadian Committee on Data for Science and Technology (CODATA), which helps to manage data stemming from work in the sciences, engineering and technological field. The award provides funding for a current or recent graduate student to present his/her work at the International CODATA Conference. The next conference is in New Delhi, India from November 2 to 5, 2014.
